Do Gooder gives enviro-warriors wings

A new campaigning platform, developed by Sydney-based design firm Digital Eskimo named ‘Do Gooder’ will launch this week.

Do Gooder allows everyone with a cause to launch and run their own campaign, whether it’s petitioning councillors about community issues, lobbying company CEOs to improve their environmental performance or mobilising a widespread national political movement. Campaigners can use the platform to rally supporters to sign petitions, lobby politicians and influential people by email or phone, even raise money for their cause.

The digital landscape has changed the campaigning and activism worlds forever, as this wave of change pours through politics, engagement and civic life. The sharing culture of online communities is aiding activism as messages are spread, best-practise is shared and the overall standard and effectiveness of campaigning is lifted.

However, a great deal of campaigners still hit a wall when it comes to building strong websites and online tools. They either don’t have the skills or money, or waste valuable resources on websites that could be spent on campaign creative and strategy. Do Gooder aims to address this.

Digital Eskimo has a long history of helping NGOs build web platforms for their campaigns. The time came for them to figure out a way to help campaigners save the money and time they were spending on these tools – freeing up resources for the strategy and creative thought behind campaigns. And so.. the birth of Do Gooder.

We think Do Gooder is revolutionary because now everyone can run extremely effective campaigns for the greater good – not just the big brands, NGOs or industry lobbies’, says founder and chief Do Gooder, David Gravina.

The platform has already seen successes including the Keep it Wheel campaign for 350.org, a campaign to save solar rebates in NSW.

The platform is based in Sydney but has politician data for the UK and US.

If you’re interested the platform visit the Do Gooder site, facebook, or twitter pages.
